CANNON PROJECT - WEEK 04

  1. I think your shapes are very strong and your edges are very clear, I think the biggest noticeable thing is the wood grain doesn't really move in any logical way. Woodworkers tend to work along the grain because it's easier to cut so the wood grain should go along the shape. Great work overall!

  2. I like the overall structure! work on the wood texture a bit more?

  3. I think your cannon and base look like they have different levels of detail and texture, also the wood grain on your wood parts is not correct and it looks strange. You might have to hand sculpt the wood and not use noise.

  4. Hi Aamir!! I love the shapes of this model! All of your details feel clean and fit nicely together. I recommend breaking up or softening the wooden texture to make it feel a little more worn/smoothed, as it appears a little too noisy in some spots.

  5. There's some slight faceting on the front hooks that need to be smoothed out. The wood detailing pattern is cool, but the metal pieces look unfinished in comparison. Really good edge work.

  6. The cannonballs are too low detail and perfect compared to the cannon. Cannonballs are made very rough and they get beat up even more when they are used and carted around.

  7. I love the sharp edges and the texture workflow for the wood, my only critique is that the wheels looks too smooth on the part where it will be moving the most and it will need some more grunge or damage.

  8. It looks great but the cannon itself looks like a completely separate object because the noise on the base looks drastically different from the cannon.

  9. Pretty good work on the sculpting. Wave noise is interesting, not entirely sure how accurate that is, but if you're going for a stylized look, it should be okay. Sculpt metal some more.

  10. I think your work is very clean. My critique is maybe make your cannon itself a little more detailed.

  11. Add a little bit more detail on the bolts and metal brackets, they look a bit forgotten compared to the rest of your cannon. Otherwise, I feel like your barrel of your cannon is very successful. The wood may be a little distracting...

  12. I like the clean shapes and details but the wood texture doesn't look realistic, maybe making the lines smaller could help with the realism.

  13. I really like the amount of detail that you put into the wooden parts of the cannon! The overall secondary and tertiary details look great! I think you can push this further by making the barrel of the cannon have more defined edges to match the wooden and metal parts, making it look more coherent
